Our Wedding Day | North Texas Wedding

July 15, 2018 — The magical, beautiful, wonderful day where we promised each other forever.

I met Shaun my freshman year of college at the University of Missouri. I don’t actually remember the moment we first met, and he loves to tease me for it to this day. But nonetheless, we met and eventually realized that this was something unlike we had ever had before.

And now we get to say it — we’re married!!! Shaun and I worked really hard to make our day as “us” as possible. We were married in McKinney, Texas, which is just down the road from where I grew up. We both really love Texas and it was especially great to get married in my hometown. Our venue was rustic and full of nature, both of which were super important to us, and we got to add our own special details to the place.

We got to work with the most incredible team of vendors who made our dreams come to life! Special shoutout to Michele Shore who captured our day absolutely beautifully and who made our day so dang fun (seriously, get yourself a photographer you like to be around, it’s the best!)

Our wedding day was an absolute dream, and I am so excited to share these snapshots with you all!

I carried quite a few family heirlooms with me down the aisle. I wore my late grandmother’s engagement ring (left) on my right hand all day, which was really special. My mom gifted me two charms (right) with a photo of us and a photo of her on her wedding day to carry with my bouquet down the aisle. It was really special having her with me as well as my father on that special walk.

Stone Crest Venue is so dang beautiful. We especially loved all the wood and the arbor that the ceremony was performed under. And the flowers from Shabby Rose Florist just made it so so so much better!

I designed our invitation suite and all of our day-of stationery myself. Instead of traditional ceremony programs, I made double sided programs that doubled as a fan (a MUST for a July Texas wedding!) On one side we had information about the ceremony, including our bridal party, order of events and more, and on the other side the story of our relationship (in infographics!)

Our people are amazing. We were so lucky to have these friends and family by our side as bridesmaids, groomswomen and groomsmen!

Some of my favorite parts of the day — our first look and just getting to be together while getting our portraits taken.

Our ceremony was just perfect and exactly like we wanted it to be! I cried the whole way down the aisle, which I actually was not expecting. The view from the ceremony site was breathtaking, and having all of our friends and family standing beside us was incredible.

We’re married!!!! Best. Feeling. Ever.

And now for some of my favorite details from the day.

This is probably my favorite detail of the whole day. We had wedding photos of our parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles all together to remind us of the impact our family has had on us. It was really special to remember them, especially those who aren’t with us anymore.

And it’s not a wedding without some killer dancing photos!

And finally, a moment alone. I am so in love with these photos and these people and most importantly, my husband. We are so lucky to have these people in our lives, and I hope you enjoyed seeing just a few moments of our perfect day.
