3 Reasons Why I Love Using Tailwind for Pinterest

It’s no secret that I love (love, love, love) using Pinterest for my business. Not only is it a great way to gather inspiration for projects, create mood boards and find new recipes (a classic!), it’s also a great way to drive traffic to your website or Etsy shop. And my (not-so) secret weapon for Pinterest success? Tailwind for Pinterest. An online tool that posts and re-pins content to your Pinterest on your behalf. Sounds cool, right? Not having to worry about adding pins to Pinterest every day (or even every month). Well, let me tell you. It is very cool, and it has boosted my website and Etsy traffic a lot.

I’ve gone from a few thousand Pinterest views per month to 3 million. Yes, million. That’s a lot of people seeing my pins. And while not every pin is a product or blog post of mine, quite a few are (plus, sharing valuable content with my followers, even if it isn’t my content, is a priority of mine). Almost 30% of my Etsy views come from Pinterest alone. That’s a pretty big chunk if you consider all the places that can drive traffic. I’ve gained dozens of newsletter subscribers from one blog post that people have found on Pinterest. That’s at least a few more people I can connect with.

3 reasons why I love using Tailwind for Pinterest

Here are a few more of the reasons why I love Tailwind:

  1. It saves valuable time. I’m a big fan of block scheduling and task batching (grouping similar tasks together to avoid switching between tasks). I set aside a block of time once a month and set up all my pins. Throughout the month, Tailwind will post these pins at the time they think people are most engaged online. One afternoon of work and then not having to worry about it anymore? Heck to the yes.
  2. I can easily repurpose content. Tailwind has this really cool new feature called SmartLoop. Basically, you curate a collection of similar pins, tell Tailwind which boards they should go on, and they will automatically schedule them over time. You can tell the system how many times to post, how often, and even which months of the year to be active. (Meaning your Christmas pins will only schedule during the winter instead of all year!) This has been a great way to repurpose older pins and posts without having to remember to go back and find them to repin again.
  3. Did you see those stats? When I hit 1 million monthly views on Pinterest, I was pretty pumped. Now, I know that social media numbers aren’t everything, but I was pretty proud of that milestone. That’s a lot of people who have the potential to see my website and Etsy shop. I never would have gotten up there without the help of Tailwind.
